A Moms Survival Guide to being game day ready.

When my children first started playing sports, I was not prepared. I didn’t even have the basics needed to get through the game. As time has gone on, I have accumulated all the items needed for basics and comfort. I have created a list to make it easier for you to have everything you would need or want without the hassle. With youth sports in full swing, use these tip and tricks to be game day ready. No matter the sport, the sideline will be where you spend most of you time. Now lets get ready!

Gear for Game Day

  • Seating: You will definitely want a comfortable chair. Chairs have come a long way. They have ones that ROCK and ones with CANOPIES. If you are more of a bleacher parent, then you will need a great bleacher seat. They make seats with great CUSHIONS.
  • Weather Gear:                                                                                                                                                                                                    In warmer seasons, you will need to be looking for cooling methods. A HANDHELD fan will be your best friend.  If you feel that is not enough, they make a slightly bigger PORTABLE fan. Some of these portable fans have a MIST option. Don’t forget about the simple UMBRELLA to help keep the sun off of you. For your athlete you will want to help them stay cool with COOLING TOWELS.                                                                              In cooler seasons, you will want some shelter at times. You can shelter with a POD. If shelter is not what you are looking for, they have HOODED blanket sacks to keep you warm against the frigid winds. HAND warmers may come in handy. 🙂
  • Hydration: You and your athlete will need to stay hydrated. There are many great water bottles/tumblers out there. (YETI, STANLEY, OWALA, HYDRO FLASK) For the really hot games, they make an 5 replacement to help replenish what is lost. For those drinks that are in a bottle that you want to keep cold, use a COOLER.
  • Safety: Every team needs to have a FIRST AID kit for emergencies. Another great add for your kit is WRAPPING TAPE and ICE PACKS.
  • Equipment: You will have your hands full unless you add a WAGON to your must haves. This has saved some backs and fights about who is carrying what. To help organized all of your little items, a BOGG BAG is the way to go. You can even personalized it.
  • Snacks: Don’t forget about the snacks. They are important for fueling your athlete before and after their games. They can also be helpful for keeping the sideline siblings satisfied. They make SNACK BAGS for easy to grab snacks. Another way to bring snacks is with a SNACKABLE carrier.
